Big Steaks Ramps Up Social Media Marketing and Outreach

Launches “Mr. Sizzle” — A Formal Social Media Identity — To Lead the Effort

In a move to expand consumer outreach online, Big Steaks Management today announced the appointment of its first-ever social media chair, Mr. Sizzle. Mr. Sizzle is a fully branded social media concept — complete with character illustration, background story, and theme — that will regularly appear on social networking outlets like Facebook and Twitter to promote the nine Ruth’s Chris Steak House locations that Big Steaks operates on the east coast (Maryland, North Carolina and New Jersey).

“With nine restaurant locations in three states, we face a very diverse group of clientele,” said David Sadeghi, COO of Big Steaks Management. “Our social media effort requires a unified voice that can relate to all of our audiences. That's difficult to achieve through a company representative at our headquarters posting to Facebook and representing our restaurants on social media sites. Mr. Sizzle solves that challenge and allows us to speak fluently and seamlessly to each demographic in any given geographic location.”

As traditional public relations continue to evolve in the ever-growing social media scene, Sadeghi stated that Big Steaks is charging full-force into publishing and managing its own promotions and news through popular social networking outlets.

The concept of Mr. Sizzle was developed by Big Steaks' PR/branding partner, Vitamin®. The caricature's look/feel was inspired by a retro-modern cartoon style. The result is a character that is identifiable to contemporary viewers, yet one that contains a story and rich history, much like the Ruth's Chris brand. Mr. Sizzle is fun, romantic, and sophisticated yet readily approachable and sociable. His age is purposefully ambiguous to attract a wide demographic of consumers, including Generation Y and up.
