How Big Steaks Gives Back

We have donated a tremendous amount of time, talent and treasure to humanitarian causes and non-profit organizations in the communities we serve. Most notably, we launched the annual Ruth’s Chris Steak House Sizzling Celebrity Golf Classic in 1997 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Maryland.

Drawing sports celebrities including Ed Reed, Mark Clayton, Anita Marks, Jonathan Ogden, Don Scott, Adalius Thomas, the classic has raised more than $2.4 million since its inception. The 10th annual tournament raised a record $327,000 to help find a cure for blood-related cancers. Our most recent golf classic, in 2009, raised $220,000. Those proceeds will be used to support 20 researchers working in Maryland to keep hope alive for children and adults who are battling leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers.

Our Ruth’s Chris Steak House locations and the Havana Club have also contributed to local communities by participating in various galas and festivities, donating food to associations and those in need, and dedicating personal volunteer time to non-profit organizations. Above and beyond our local efforts, we donate more than $100,000 to charities across the U.S. every year.
